California Blues
While my cartoon gently pokes fun at the notion of "having the blues" in California, the blues has a rich tradition in this sunny state. While mostly influenced by the Texas blues sound, the west coast blues scene embodied a variety of styles. Many people arrived after the second world war from Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Arkansas to work in the fields and factories and brought with them their bluesy sounds from home. One of the famous Texas Bluesman who was a huge influence on the blues in California is T-Bone Walker. I provided a classic video of his "Stormy Monday Blues" down below. Enjoy!
